8-bit Music Theory is 8-bit, creator of the 8-bit Music Theory YouTube Channel. They make videos analyzing how and why our favourite video game music sounds so great, using a combination of their formal music education and hundreds of hours of personal study. They decided to start making videos after spending years scouring the internet, trying unsuccessfully to find nerdy music theory videos that weren’t either A) directed at complete beginners or B) unbearably dry and boring. Eventually they just said “screw it, I’m making my own videos”, and here we are. If you, like them, wish for more high-level-yet-non-academic music analysis, this is the place for you.
