911 Buddy Check Project

911 Buddy Check Project started as a Facebook page to do weekly Buddy Checks with our brothers and sisters in emergency services. It came to be after the founder’s old partner from Rural Metro committed suicide. It has blossomed into something totally different and amazing. After a few years they formed a 501-c3 non profit to better serve those who serve. There were a few organizations out there doing mental health awareness, but almost none gave back to the providers. Talk is cheap, they wanted to give back where it counted. They started offering peer support, substance abuse coaching, health/ nutrition coaching, as well as spiritual/ life coaching. One of their big focuses is being able to pay for providers counseling visits and rehab services. There are no organizations out there that offer what they do. There is more to mental health than story telling and awareness. They give providers the tools they need to not only survive, but thrive in emergency services. They help providers find solutions and peace through their core values, strength, honor and discipline.
