MadMapper is Steven (32) and Jannis (20), two media technology students from Germany with years of experience in RPGs, as players and DMs. They both love to create their own worlds, be it visuals, audio or written text. When the pandemic hit Germany at the beginning of 2020, they did what had to be done and practiced #socialdistancing. For their weekly D&D games, that meant going digital. Soon they discovered some animated battlemaps out there, that make the games they play a lot more visually appealing and immersive, though they couldn’t find all the maps they needed. That’s when they started to create their own battlemaps for pen and paper sessions with friends. They wanted the maps to become alive, so they started to use their love for movies and editing to make videos, that set the scene for everyone. They will publish all videos, images and documents on their own server.
