Jonny Writes Words is a traveling poet, creating poems and stories for people in the street with their typewriter, about whatever subject, topic, or theme they choose. They’re offering a service of commissions by post. They also create a poetry newsletter sharing their work and thoughts on a regular basis. They work with people one-to-one via video call, bringing in their previous life experience working in mental health and social care to offer a space of deep listening for people to explore their own stories and experiences. They offer a package of unique pieces reflective of the therapeutic/performance art journey, which can be turned into a hand-bound book if the person works with them over multiple sessions. They’re offering a special package of an audiobook, podcast, exhibition, and a series of short films combining travel documentary with spoken word. Art is an essential human resource. It’s fundamental to who we are. It should be inclusive and accessible. Art creates and holds together communities and cultures. Art is a force for social change, healing and transformation. Art opens hearts and minds. Art should not be elitist and cornered off for only members of certain social groups to enjoy.
