AnaitGames y Podcast RELOAD is Pep, Vctor and Marta, the team responsible for AnaitGames.com, the Podcast Reload, the AnaitGames editorial and the Twitch AnaitGames channel. Things have changed a lot since they started this project all the way back in 2005, but even more so since they decided to maintain their independence (and sanity) with the help of their fans on Patreon. One thing they have learned is not to be afraid of anything: not to close themselves off to platforms, to go against the grain, or to serve as a sounding board. They have brought their spirit to paper in the form of several books of game studies focused on looking at the medium in a different way, and they have stopped focusing on current events in order to focus on in-depth articles as well as the research of the national industry. Their latest adventure led them to the video streaming platform Twitch where they broadcast between two and three days a week. They believe that Anait is different because of their approach. The belief that video game criticism and analysis can be done from a multidisciplinary and personal perspective at the same time is one of their objectives, and one of the things they want to do is give space to the authors to talk and develop their interests beyond the calendar that dictates the industry’s schedule. And to do this, they need their fans. Working without advertising, without needing to campaign, and not having to please a larger entity is essential in order to be able to say what they want at the time they think it’s best. It’s also fundamental to allow them to experiment and develop any ideas that come to mind. With this Patreon, they want to be able to continue doing what they’re passionate about and, they think, they’re good at it. They don’t want to get rich, but continue working with dignity and freedom with the help of a community that feels more and more like a family.
