Ani DiFranco

Ani DiFranco is an American singer and songwriter and the founder of Righteous Babe Records, which she started in 1989 at the age of 19. She has recorded and toured steadily since 1990, releasing more than 20 albums. From Wikipedia: “DiFranco supports many social and political movements by performing benefit concerts, appearing on benefit albums and speaking at rallies. Through the Righteous Babe Foundation, DiFranco has backed grassroots cultural and political organizations supporting causes including abortion rights and LGBT visibility.”

In late 2019 (quite fortuitously, in hindsight) DiFranco launched on Patreon to “take that sense of community we feel at concerts online as i try to make it more sustainable to balance the needs of family life with continuing to be a very active creator.”
