B.E. Farrow is a musician. Their career has become untenable. Before this hit, they were gonna be on their way to Morocco and Baffin Bay as apart of the State Department’s American Music Abroad program making deep connections with the first country to recognize the United States as an entity separate from the British Empire (Morocco) and communing on colonialism with the Inuits of the far north alongside their band Gangstagrass. That dream opportunity along with the most money they were gonna make this year vanished over the span of the past few days. Now they’re stuck in Seattle till things calm down, out about $3000 for April (let’s not even talk about May…), and forced to restructure how they can even be a musician anymore. Their projects include a podcast and polishing up an album for with Song in the Key of Free, a series of composer/musician workshops occurring at Pennsylvania prisons and correctional facilities, and creating new material for themselves and with their band Gangstagrass. It’s been hard to find value in what they do given how esoteric the effect is but they’ve seen how music brings us together, heals us in the darkest times, and gives us a path forward and beyond. They believe in this path they’re on with music and now they need to ask their supporters to keep this belief strong.
