Beags and Jam is a streamer and YouTuber who, like a lot of people, has found that creating content and streaming has become a bigger part of their lives. Over time, different people have voiced their desire to support them, and they have asked where they could do so. Since creating this page seemed unnecessary, they decided to accept PayPal Donations and recieve Twitch subscriptions. As they were setting it up, though, they wanted to make clear that nobody should feel like they have to support them. They offered rewards for each pledge tier like Kickstarter, but they wanted to make sure that nobody was forced to pledge to them just to get certain rewards. The strangest thing about setting up this page is that few people ever went to the trouble of claiming their rewards. Few people ever sent in their addresses to receive physical items, few sent in their nickname choices, and even at the high tiers that they thought would exist just as a gag, few wanted to receive any of the large set of rewards they’d laid out for them. They didn’t want any of the things they were offering. They just wanted to support them. Having learned that, as they switch away from primarily focusing on XCOM, a reboot and simplification of this page has been a long time coming. They’re doing away with the pretense of rewards and simply allowing this page to exist as what the vast majority of people have used it as – as a place to support them without looking for anything tangible in return.
