Beth Wood is a songwriter and poet, a storyteller through word and song. They believe in the power of creative expression, the power of words, the power of a voice to uplift and move and bring light. They have been a touring singer-songwriter for most of their life and a poet alongside that. They observe the world. They notice small things. They feel deeply. Music is their native language. They harness those things into song and poems that they delight in sharing with you. At the beginning of 2020, they sat down to envision what they wanted their art, their business, and their life to look like. They have been feeling the pull to plant roots, and they finally found a place to do just that in Sisters, OR. They started a journal entry entitled, “It’s time.” about feeling called to tour less, be home more, ignite creativity in others, and build community through music. For their entire career, their major income source has been touring. They still love playing concerts and will continue to do so when it feels correct, but what to do now? It dawned on them that it was time to create a community through Patreon. Then spring of 2020 happened, and everything changed. It feels surreal to launch this endeavor from this strange landscape, but there is no better time than now to reach out, offer light, connect, feed their spirits through word and song. It is their dream to make art, live simply, and be of service to their community and to the world. This Patreon community is an invitation to their creative process – think of it like a backstage pass to everything they make, a fan club, a subscription to their art! Each month they will share a new song and a poem along, and they’ll have occasional patron-only Zoom hangouts. From time to time they will share videos and online concerts exclusive to their patrons, and they will engage their feedback and their input! They will still create recordings and books that they share with the world, but their patrons will get to see these things develop and come together and grow. Their patrons will become a part of the process! Each person will have access to this exclusive content, no matter what amount they choose to contribute. They can change their amount or cancel at any time, no judgment. They know these are uncertain times with circumstances shifting day by day. They hope their patrons will watch their welcome video to get an idea of how this all works. If their patrons would like to learn more about them and their work, check out their website. Let’s try something new.
