What you will find – they hope – are rich, engaging stories and essays featuring interesting characters, legendary games and compelling moments that have all played their own part in shaping the soul of the South. Your storytelling team begins with Johnathan McGinty, Joe VanHoose and Marc Lancaster. They’ve all worked in daily journalism and, in many instances, have direct experiences with many of the things they’ll chronicle here. They have a grand vision of making Beyond the Trestle a platform where they can invite and encourage the best sportswriters in the South to pursue the stories they want to write. So, that’s why they have this Patreon page. They believe that writing is a calling for many, and they believe that good storytelling deserves to be supported.
