René Brooks, the mind behind Black Girl, Lost Keys, has taken a late-life diagnosis of ADHD and used it to uplift others. After being diagnosed with ADHD 3 times (age 7, 11, and 25), at 25 she was able to get the treatment she deserved. Black Girl, Lost Keys empowers black women with ADHD and shows them how to live well with the disorder. Women with ADHD are the fastest growing population of those newly diagnosed with ADHD. Black Girl, Lost Keys seeks to provide women of color with visibility in the mental health community, and a safe place to learn about and manage their condition.
