Black Women Directors

Black Women Directors is a digital platform dedicated to highlighting and celebrating the work of Black women and nonbinary filmmakers. It started out as a Tumblr blog in the spring of 2015, created by Danielle A. Scruggs. The mission of Black Women Directors is to increase the visibility of Black women and nonbinary folks in film by indexing their work, fostering online conversations, and hosting screenings. Danielle has worked as a photographer, photo editor, and multimedia producer for more than 10 years at various media organizations, including ESPN, the Washington Post and Chicago Reader. Follow Black Women Directors on Twitter and Instagram for updates.
