Blackboard Plays is a monthly series featuring new black playwrights and a podcast that maintains the legacy of the series and serves as a space for conversations with featured playwrights. The series is curated and administered by nancy manocherian, founder of nancy manocherian’s the cell. Since 2008, it has been incubated as a resident series by The Cell, a non-profit performance venue in Manhattans Chelsea neighborhood.
