Boze Herrington is Whimsy. Literacy. Beauty. Many are seeking a political solution to what is ultimately a spiritual crisis. We need a revival of the humanistic tradition, which maintains that literature and aesthetics are essential to human flourishing. We need to raise kids who grow up reading fantasy and myths and fairy-tales, who become adults who read Austen and Dickens and Dickinson and Tolkien and Tolstoy. As much as kids need food and shelter, they also need stories to teach them that there are monsters to fight, and good worth fighting for. Boze’s vocation, calling, is to awaken people’s imaginations. In the past couple years they’ve ghostwritten at least ten novels and dozens of novellas and short stories in genres ranging from mystery to middle-grade fantasy to historical romance. But a punishing schedule hasn’t left them much time for writing under their own name. They’re currently working on three books with the goal of being traditionally published, and have plans to write several others once those are finished. This is where you can help. They don’t intend to quit ghostwriting – the experience it’s given them in writing fiction has been invaluable – but they would like to devote more time to writing for themselves (and, eventually, a larger audience).
