Brett Hamil is a comedian, writer, cartoonist, videomaker and political commentator living in the southend of Seattle. They are the host of The Seattle Process, a political comedy talk show where they interview some of the city’s most brilliant artists, politicians and activists. They are also the creator and “Interim Legislative Aide” of The Shadow Council, a satirical peoples assembly and laboratory of utopian ideas. They write freelance about comedy, local politics, and social justice issues for City Arts, Seattle Weekly and the South Seattle Emerald. They have also organized direct actions like the Slow Internet Walk for municipal broadband. Of course, none of this stuff pays very well. They started this Patreon because a lot of their best work is distributed for free on the internet. Your support will help them make things bigger and better and more ambitious. It’ll enable them to put more research and production time into their projects. It’ll allow them to collaborate with other creators and pay them well for their work. It’ll also help them lay the groundwork to teach the stuff they’ve learned to the next generation of political michief-makers.
