Brian Martinez is a writer who likes a good scifi story. they grew up equally terrified and excited by Xenomorphs. they watched The Thing at way too early an age, saw Event Horizon in the theaters and went on to gobble up every Dead Space and Doom game that came along. their only complaint about space horror is there’s not enough of it. that’s why, when it came time to start a serial, they knew what they had to do. The Vessel is about a massive ship named Ark One. its passengers long ago fled a dying Earth, only to find an even more terrifying fate among the stars. as they wrote The Vessel as a weekly serial, they always intended to expand the story into other forms of media. High on their list was a podcast since, like you i’m sure, they’re a big fan of the format. they’re not a narrator, however, and they didn’t want to make anything they weren’t sure would turn out the best it possibly could.Enter Jason Hill. Jason is the fan-favorite narrator on shows like Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, The Simply Scary Podcast and Knifepoint Horror. He even has his own show, Horror Hill, which is exactly where them and I crossed paths. After bringing a story of theirs to life, Jason instantly became their number one choice for voicing The Vessel. Some months later the stars aligned and they recorded ten episodes together. When their schedule got to be too much (because they’re that good) they picked their replacement, the equally great Erik Peabody of Viking Guitar Productions, who took the baton from Jason and ran with it.Hopefully, with the support of their listeners, they will tell the story of The Vessel for as long as it takes. As time goes on they’ll continue to evolve the show, and this Patreon page with it.
