Brita Lynn Thompson is an illustrator based in Pittsburgh, PA. They create intricate patterns all free hand and combine them with recognizable silhouettes such as animals, food, characters and more. Once the design is complete, they print what they created as waterproof stickers. They are perfect for water bottles, cars, laptops, phone cases and all sorts of things. Car wash safe and even dishwasher safe. They started their business back in 2014. It all started when they won Starbucks White Cup Contest. The idea of the contest was to draw on one of their cups and post a photo on Instagram. Out of 4,000+ entires, they chose them. Their cup was reproduced on a reusable cup and sold online and in stores all over the US and Canada. The exposure from the contest got everyone talking about their work. People were asking where they could buy their work. At that time, they were in college and had a part-time retail job. They never thought they would be able to open up their own online shop where people could and want to purchase their work. Soon after the contest, they opened up an Etsy shop and it started to flourish. They use to only sell their originals and prints but then thought they needed a smaller price point item for their online shop and at their art festival shows. When they were younger, they loved stickers and thought their designs would be great as stickers. They made a few of their original designs into waterproof stickers and BOOM they were a hit. After that, they kept making more and more stickers. That was only 3 years ago and they went from 6 stickers to over 600 different stickers to choose from. They like to have a large variety of different designs so someone shopping on their site could find something they could relate to or find a gift for someone else. They make amazing gifts and so does this monthly sticker subscription for a sticker lover. For just a small amount of money a month, depending on what you pledge, you will receive happy mail with new random stickers every month. Sooner or later, you can collect all 600+ waterproof stickers. Since every month you will receive all different designs and won’t know what they look like until you open the package, say one month you loved the stickers that arrive in your mail box but then next month, they might not be the animal you love or the design you love, you can gift them to someone else.
