BTR&R Lost Pines

BTR&R Lost Pines

BTR&R Lost Pines is located on 15 acres of private land in the Lost Pines Forest of Bastrop County Texas. Since the purchase of the space in 2015, the current owners have been slowly molding this piece of land into a retreat for themselves and other marginalized people. In January of 2019 BTR&R Lost Pines officially became a member of the Lost Pines Habitat Conservation (LPHC), a voluntary program regulated by the EPA which is helping to maintain the health of the forest for generations to come. In addition to trail clearing, fire mitigation, and invasive pest control, BTR&R Lost Pines is also using permaculture to maintain and grow native food plants. Future plans include free “open house” community gatherings open to all, and centering BIPOC and LGBTQ+. These events will be super family friendly and have a theme and at least one organized outdoor activity such as freeze-tag, hide and seek, soccer, arts and crafts… think kids camp activities but for all ages. Private retreats for and centering around Black women age 13+ will be multi-day eco-immersions and include meditation, mindfulness walks, communal food harvesting and/or prep, dancing, and in-depth healing workshops led by at least one Black woman. Private retreats for Multiracial families will include multi-day events. They’ll have activities for the whole family and informative nature classes for the children. A late-night multiracial parent circle will be planned when on-site childcare is available to maximize attendance. A membership program for vetted BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Advocates to be able to access the property (outside of planned events) for camping, trail walking, food plant cultivation/harvesting, or to just sit and be in the woods is also in the works. Thank you for s upporting these endeavors.
