Daniella Zalcman

Daniella Zalcman

Daniella Zalcman is a documentary photographer whose projects focus on the sometimes obvious and sometimes subtle impacts of western colonization. Their work regularly appears in places like National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, and The Wall Street Journal. They are also the founder of Women Photograph, a non-profit working to elevate the voices of women and nonbinary visual journalists worldwide. Daniella believes that storytelling (in any of its forms) is the fundamental fabric of our society that stories are how we connect to each other, how we pass on generational knowledge, how we learn, and how we remember. They also believe in the power of community and collaboration as part of assembling our collective historic record. Daniella hopes that they can use this space to share some of their photographic work, some of their thoughts on the photojournalism industry at large and where we’re going, and build a mini community here where we can chat and grow together.
