Dave Astels is working in computer hardware and software for well over 30 years and has learned a lot of lessons over that time. Now it’s time to give back. All of his work these days is with the goal of helping all of you get better at making things with tech: primarily electronics, microcontrollers (think Arduino, Feather, etc), retro-computing, and 3d printing. Think of him like Ben Heck but with more hair and less accent. You can find his content in various places including Youtube, HackSpace Magazine, Adafruit’s learning guide site, and Adafruit’s forums. When he’s not fiddling with tech, he’s probably fiddling with fountain pens or practicing calligraphy. He’s on Patreon because he is doing this full-time and, to be honest, it covers the most important day-to-day bills, but just barely. Most of the time. So if you enjoy his articles, guides, and tutorials, consider throwing a few bucks his way each month. It all helps and it’s all appreciated.. .
