Kevin Perjurer is creating Defunctland, a documentary series published on YouTube that documents the history of extinct amusement parks and theme park attractions as well as children’s television shows. They told themselves that they would create a Patreon if they made it to 10,000 subscribers, a goal that they never thought they would reach. However, thanks to all of them, here they are. They are not ignorant to the fact that their audience is not here for them. Their audience is here because they all share a deep interest in amusement park history and preservation. They all understand the time and creative effort that went into creating their favorite attractions and rides, and unlike other mediums of art (film, music, etc.), when an attraction closes, it is difficult to experience again. Defunctland is both a love letter to forgotten creativity and an attempt to preserve it. Their goal is to create elaborate intros, original music, special effects, and more to elevate the production value of Defunctland.
