Dia Lacina is a queer, Indigenous game critic. They began their professional games criticism career in 2017 with sites like Waypoint and Paste doing feature essays on topics like: game photography, race and gender, and mental illness, as well as the occasional review. In 2020, they decided to branch out into new forms of criticism and examining games media that is rarely represented in depth at mainstream gaming outlets. They started doing Let’s Plays on YouTube, beginning with a long-form series of Let’s Plays working through the Atlus’ Megami Tensei series from it’s 1987 beginnings. Their goal is to continue bolstering their critical essays on games and written reviews with more multimedia work, such as a short-form LP series focusing on narrative in games.
