Elsa Kroese is making comics, digital art and occasionally likes to get their hands dirty with acrylic paint or build 3D objects. Elsa graduated as an animator, and started their career as a game artist for a small independent studio and doing freelance illustration work on the side. In 2011 they quit their studio job to focus on their comic project Spindrift. They’ve been doing that until June 2020, and it was everything but a straightforward journey. They struggled with -and talked openly- about depression and grief, and combining their personal struggles with the life of a freelance artist and realizing an ambitious dream project. Recently, their path has taken another turn. They shelved their comic project, to heal, make room for new and exciting projects that would challenge them in different ways.
