EMiSpicer is a beginning around August of 2010, they traveled around the world taking photos at events at the intersections of music, games, and art. They were originally aspiring to be a music photographer when they stumbled into Babycastles events, which introduced them to the games community. Back then, they didn’t have a clear plan for existing in that space. They had brought their camera with them to practice and hopefully become a better photographer. But as time went on they fell in love with the community and eventually invented a title for themselves: video game culture photographer. They still did music photography too, especially for the chiptune community, but they were probably best known for their work in games. Their goal has been to show these strange and amazing things to the world, while hopefully capturing what it felt like to be there. They’ve created a lot of work they’re really proud of, including a few photos that you might even recognize. The way they work has changed a lot over the years. They’ve worked too hard and burned themselves out more times than they can count! So now they’re focusing on trying to find new ways to create while staying healthy. The way they set things up in the earliest days was maybe a little too ambitious, so now they’d like to apply what they’ve learned from other areas of their professional life and reapply them here. They’re thankful to have had so much support for so long, even while they were still just figuring things out. So now, they have some cool plans for ways they can thank you for your support without making things too stressful for them. They hope you’ll give them a chance to show you what’s up their sleeve.
