Fahmi Reza

Fahmi Reza is a digital content creator from Kuala Lumpur who has been designing posters about social and political issues in Malaysia since 2001. For the last 20 years, they have created designs for dozens of campaigns for human rights NGO’s like SUARAM, KOMAS, Bersih 2.0, Bar Council and Amnesty International Malaysia, and have had their designs for these cause framed. They have been arrested by the police 5 times in 2001, 2004, 2012, 2016 (2 times), and this year (2021) for the posters they create that criticize and protest against government corruption. In 2016 they were charged in court, and sentenced to a fine and prison term for the poster they created that criticized Prime Minister Najib Razak in the 1MDB scandal. So far this year (2021) they have been interrogated by the police 7 times for their graphic creations. Despite being pushed back and again, they remain committed to joining graphics, activism, and politics for the sake of social change. Since 2009, they have been more active sharing their poster graphics about current issues on social media almost every day.
