Feliţa “Felli” Maynard is a creator and educator. Outside of art, they are also the 1/3 of Support Black Art, which exists solely for the promotion and awareness of black artists worldwide. They engage their community via social media, art events, and social activism. Felli works across traditional analog and alternative photography processes to create artwork to further understand themselves and their ancestors. They focus on retelling stories that challenge misrepresented histories of people from the African Diaspora, the beauty of the Black body and investigating the complex identities that compromise gender and sexuality. Felli has always paid out of pocket for all their film cameras, film, lighting supplies, development, etc. They are now at a point where they can no longer afford it on their own. They believe they are destined to do this work and with help they will be able to continue to learn and create.
