Gabriel Resendez is a Latinx genderfluid personal trainer and transgender activist who originated from La Paz, Bolivia and immigrated to New York City with their family when they were a baby. They started transitioning in 2014 and, seeing no other Latinx representation that they could look to for inspiration, they documented their transition on social media through YouTube, Tumblr and Instagram. Feeling isolated most of their life, social media has provided a platform for them to connect with others in their community, for people to know about their story and provide the support that they never had starting out. No one should be alone in navigating their transition, am I right?
