Good Mourning, Nancy is a locally produced and recorded podcast in Upstate New York. Their show mostly focuses on the female perspective of a horror film’s characters, the social roles horror plays in mainstream (and independent) media, representation (if any) of POC and LGBTQ+ characters, and how feminism plays a part in horror as a whole. The two of them host, produce, and edit every single episode, as well as provide all of the research regarding the films they watch and review. In the past they recorded episodes together in a homemade studio in Gracie’s apartment. Now, they are recording from two different locations (remote recording). They have two microphones and two interfaces for recording the show, and a small editing software program that they use to produce quality episodes for their audience. They do all of their research themselves without the use of co-workers or interns for help (all while working day jobs too). They’ve learned how to do everything themselves and they are proud of the work they have created in just under two years time. While their ingenuity and creativity has taken them quite far, they’d like to expand their budget to produce even better quality episodes.
