Kelly Sparks Salchli has been an illustrator since they were a little girl. They have always been compelled to draw and create. It’s just who they are. Creating an image of something is a way to express their love for that thing, whether it be a plant, animal, or one of their three lovely children. They love discovering and depicting the unique qualities and beauty of a thing: a tiny fern, a flowing horse mane, cirrus clouds, or lichen on a rock. They love the very process of drawing lines and applying layers of paint. They’ve been working in acrylic but hope to leap back into oils again soon.
