Long Tall Deb and Colin John are excited to welcome their dedicated friends and followers to a new chapter in their creative lives. They have been writing and performing music together for a long time now. They have had a blast performing in-person for you on three continents from the Big Island of Hawai’i to Mishawaka, Indiana to Bologna, Italy to Bangalore, India and many points in between. Pandemic 2020 has forced them to become creative with how they bring the music to you as well as how they can continue to sustain a living doing it. It’s been scary to watch live music come to a complete standstill, not just the creative aspect but also the loss of their livelihood as they once knew it. On the other hand, it has also been exciting to realize that this is a new opportunity for them to grow and expand what they do. They want to share more things with you than they can feasibly do at a live show: things like how to play some of songs, their own brand of “sketch” comedy, videos of how they come up with songs, videos of how they get inspired to write those songs and videos of things they do in the meantime to motivate themselves as well as take a break. They have done successful and engaging crowdfunding projects in the past but this is a little different. Where their Kickstarter projects were centered around ONE ultimate goal: funding and releasing a full-length album, this Patron page is centered around an ONGOING goal: providing access to worthwhile content and behind-the-scenes content you won’t find anywhere else. Ultimately, all types of artists feed off engagement with their audience. It is a mutually beneficial relationship. When they know people are watching and connecting with what they do, they are absolutely inspired to make more. They have spent a lot of time brainstorming and conceptualizing how this will look and feel to you and how they can make it worth your time and few dollars a month. They admit they are learning as they go and they welcome all the feedback and encouragement and suggestions you want to send them. Thanks so much for joining them on this fun and uncharted trip.
