lostinplantopia is Jenn. They are a teo chew/vietnamese woman who was born + raised in tkaronto after their family were forcibly displaced from their homes in vietnam in the late 1970s. they are a storyteller & academic/activist. most of their work takes place offline & is grounded in a critical race framework. their work focused addressing social inequalities + injustices through research, teaching, and community building. they are a registered social worker, and their practice is currently focused on decolonizing therapy and organizing community gardens. they hold graduate degrees in psychology & social work, and are an adjunct/status professor at two universities. They are the principal investigator on a sshrc-funded project bringing together black, indigenous, & people of colour academics, activists, practitioners, & artists to hold an event focused on anti-colonial + anti-racist approaches to & narratives on migration. They believe in the power of public education & that no one should be excluded from knowledge that will foster progressive social change.
