M. Laser is Matus Laser. They mostly do history videos on YouTube; hence their YouTube channel name is M. Laser History. They try to release 1 video per month. However, there may be periods when they cannot deliver on this promise, as they do not do YouTube full time. They apologize for when this happens. Why and how did they create their YouTube channel? Ever since they were young, they enjoyed reading about history, researching, learning new things, facts, etc. However, before picking up a book, they would always look on YouTube to check if somebody had not already made an interesting video on the subject they wanted to know about. For them watching a video is a much more entertaining way to learn than just reading a book. Sadly, there werent any videos on the topics they wanted to learn about most of the time, and they were stuck with the book. Then, in their early years of university, they were persuaded to study a different subject than history because, well, theres no money in history, they were told. During that time, strapped for historical knowledge, they started creating their history YouTube videos as a side project to satisfy their interest in history while doing a BA in IT Management. After a couple of years of working on their History channel, they were able to pursue a graduate career in history despite doing an undergraduate in IT Management. This was all possible thanks to the support from their amazing subscribers and the various creators in the YouTube History community. That’s where they are currently, in the academic graduate field at Oxford, researching and learning new historical facts while expanding their historical knowledge, all while still creating their videos. Sharing with others in a hopefully entertaining way, all the exciting historical stuff they learn about.
