Matthew Meyer is an artist and illustrator of The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons, The Hour of Meeting Evil Spirits, and The Book of the Hakutaku. You may also know him from yokai.com. He’s used crowdfunding to launch his books on Kickstarter, and has had a successful, fun business model. His favorite thing about crowdfunded projects was having a constant connection with backers, sharing new yokai with them and giving regular updates on his newest creations. The purpose of this Patreon is to continue working on yokai at a steady pace instead of releasing 100+ illustrations all at once in a book. He creates about one new yokai post per week, with progress updates (sketches, yokai-related news, and monthly goals) in between.
