Maven of the Eventide is a humorously analytical web-series examination of vampires in media and pop-culture, created by Elisa Hansen, focused on how vampires serve as metaphors and allegories for social issues and the human condition. She mostly discusses films, books and TV shows, but anything with vampires in it is subject to her scrutiny. She’s sunk her teeth into vampire comics, vampire podcasts, vampire toys, vampire wine and beer, even vampire perfume. She loves vampires, but let’s face it, they don’t have a rather bad reputation these days for nothing. Someone’s got to shed the cold, harsh light of day upon the (often justly) maligned creatures of the night. She started the series in 2011, and used to host her videos on Blip. She usually releases one or two vampire reviews per month and one “let’s play” of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, depending on the complexity of the subject.
