Megan Walsh is entering the first 70 pages of to an emerging writer’s contest. They received an honorable mention. As someone who spends so much time alone, ruminating on empathy, flaws, and compelling mannerisms, they, reminded them that they are supported. They are on to something. The novel has morphed and evolved into a sweeping generational saga that spans 100-years and follows a lineage of women from 1930-2030. To help instruct their work, they enrolled in a yearlong novel-writing fellowship lead by the talented Sharma Shields. They’ll be working with 13 other writers as they pen the first drafts of their novels. They are so excited! This book deals with a lot of issues (femininity, ecological damage, the diaspora of Czech immigrants), and with that comes a need for books, subscriptions, and research trips on top of the financial requirements for their fellowship.
