Muna Abdulahi is a first generation Somali-American, Black, Muslim, International Spoken Word Poet based in Minneapolis MN. She’s been ranked the 8th woman poet in the world from the 2018 Women of the World Poetry Slam Competition and is a three-time MN Grand Slam Poetry Champion. You can also catch her on Season 4 of “Sequester!” She’s performed in over 30 U.S states and more than five international countries. Her work has been published/featured both nationally and internationally including African Poetry Journal, Button Poetry, Somali History Museum, StarTribune, and more. In her work, she explores many themes of belonging and identity telling the stories that are erased, silenced, devalued, or buried, the stories that are difficult, the stories that bring together communities, youth, and discussions.
