NewbieDM is Enrique Bertran, better known online as NewbieDM. Ever since he rediscovered his love of role playing games with the 4th edition of D&D, he has been an active member of the rpg community. Whether it’s been dispensing advice, making tutorials, creating gaming material, talking, chatting, or podcasting, he’s been around talking about, participating, and contributing to a community that he loves. He’s seen a lot of how the community has grown and changed over the past ten years–the rise of streaming, the change in editions of their favorite games, new games and experiences appearing, and a whole new generation coming of age and discovering gaming through means they could have never imagined when they discovered gaming. It’s an exciting time to be a part of this. One of the things he’s struggled with is finding the time to keep doing what he does around rpgs. Time these days is at a premium, the day job, his family, and other real world stuff taxes his time, so he figured that a Patreon would give him the motivation and drive to stay focused and engaged.
