nyc noise is offering an experimental music calendar & affiliated Instagram @nyc_noise. They’re not offering anything “extra” for patrons since it’s already a big big time investment that costs money just the extra of their ~love~ :’) They don’t have ads or charge for services & they spend money to do this & hope to partially offset costs including labor hours, operating expenses (e.g., site domain, hosting, functioning technology), & rent / medical / dental bills. other nyc noise things include a rotating bandcamp roundup (nyc-noise.com/bandcamp-roundup) featuring releases by artists they like / that followers of the site might like if they follow the site; a rotating featured videos (nyc-noise.com/video) from~the archive~ + a bigger collection at YouTube.com/nycnoise. Covid resources & relief efforts (nyc-noise.com/covid19) include grant lists, petitions, & donation info for venues The STUFF I LIKE compilations (nycnoise.bandcamp.com) = 3 comps with a totally insane list of amazing humans (<3) who contributed tracks for the 2020 releases; starting 6/1/20, all proceeds went to covid bail out nyc, bailing medically-vulnerable POC out of rikers + providing post-release support Shows; in 2021, these included 3 dates w/ amanda irarrzabal & piles more amanda played duo w/ tamio shiraishi & nat baldwin, trio with brandon lopez & cecilia lopez, & shared bills w/ lele dai & gill arno, michael foster & ben bennett, ryan sawyer & steve gunn, lester st. louis, & brian chase & manami mizumoto at satellite art club & IRL gallery. & so hopefully future shows: i put several on hold because of covid rates + financial struggle, but currently-postponed bills are set to include crazy doberman (honorary nyc noisers), gabby fluke-mogul & nava dunkelman, big scary indian, kwami, ava mendoza, W.S.A.B.I., CHAMA, GRID, sunk heaven, & lotsssss more.
