Optibotimus is Paul, who has been creating content on Youtube now for 8 years. They needed help when they bought their first Transformer toy since they were a kid. They couldn’t figure out how to Transform them anymore. They had gotten so much more advanced than they remembered and they were stumped. They found a couple other people doing instructional videos on Youtube and they thought, “hey, that looks like fun…I could do that!” So they created their channel as a way to help people out. Over the years it’s gained and gained in popularity. With now almost 180,000 subscribers, they have been extremely lucky to be able to take something that was just fun before and turn it into their career. It’s still fun and always will be fun for them. However, times have changed and in order to keep up, they have to change things too. At the pace they work, they like producing content at least 3 times a week. They’ve done it that way for several years now and they truly believe that their audience likes that consistency. But to do that, costs add up. They are not one of those big youtubers that gets all their stuff given to them for free. They buy the overwhelming majority of the stuff they review for their viewers. But as with all things, things change. With the addition of Youtube Red, ad blockers and other things happening every day on youtube creators are never certain of their future. They love doing this as their job and would love to continue doing it. But it’s becoming increasing more difficult to do that on the revenue that just ads create now.
