Rachel Kann

Rachel Kann

Rachel Kann is a poet, mystic, dreamer, lover and darkly soulful cheerleader. Many people know her as “Rachel Kann, poet,” and thus, think of her as a person of words…She’s flattered and grateful, and…yes! Of course, she *loves* words…but verbal language is just one form of communication. The truth is, what she really likes is *communication itself!* In myriad manifestations. Of course, that means wordlessly, as well: in the form of dance classes she teaches, in the form of meditation, in the form of energy work…She is currently excited about “The Quickening” – a visual album made up of her poetry videos. This was created with the support of her Patreon Community. Thank you so much!! Her unique interests and experience give her a distinct perspective and a wild variety of traditions to choose from when addressing reality. This comes out in her expression of self, including but not limited to her poetry on the page and on the stage, as well as in videos…poetry videos are the main thing she is excited to share with you, but that’s just the beginning…which is why she loves this Patreon concept, (thank you for existing, Patreon!) It allows her to express herself in a diversity of ways, which is the absolute best for her.* Rachel Kann has performed her poetry at events like TEDx and with artists and leaders such as daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra, Marianne Williamson, Saul Williams, and Rahzel, at venues such as Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall, The Broad Stage and The San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, as well as spiritual and sacred spaces like Jewlicious Fest X aboard The Queen Mary, Agape Spiritual Center and Sinai Temple, conferences such as Women’s Visionary Congress and Visionary Convergence, and festivals like Lucidity Fest and the Vans Warped Tour. * Rachel Kann is a teaching artist. She was named UCLA Extension Writers’ Program’s Instructor of the Year on 2017. She is a poetry workshopper and editor with experience around the world from the Middle East to Europe and back again, as well as here in the USA, at places like UCLA Extension Writers’ Program, UC Riverside Palm Desert’s Low Residency MFA, Cal Berkeley, Cal State Long Beach, and the State of California’s Juvenile Correctional System, to name just a few. * She wrote the poem “What to Tell the Children,” which got attention through shares both online and in person. * Rachel Kann loves learning new stuff in the realms of science and the mystical, as well as human behavior, and she loves sharing her discoveries. * Rachel Kann got this wounded healer thing on lock. And while it hasn’t always been a bed of roses for her, she is super grateful for the perspective she has been afforded. Rachel Kann has background experience in energy healing, movement healing, Jewish mystical traditions, and apprenticeship experience in ceremonial work. Long story short, what Rachel Kann is saying is she loves helping you heal. And she loves giving (solicited) advice. Love it. LOVE IT. Her mission in allllll these different areas remains the same: to set your soul loose. to help you get free. So, Rachel Kann is excited to create new poems: in written form, audio form, video form, and through live performance. Rachel Kann is excited to workshop with you one-on-one. Rachel Kann is excited to tell you about the latest things that are blowing her mind. Rachel Kann is excited for you to open your heart and to respond in kind with heartfelt advice. And Rachel Kann is excited to dance with you! This is gonna be great.
