Rosemary Valero-O’Connell is an award-winning cartoonist originally from Spain, currently living in Brooklyn, NY. Comics are the love of their life, and their intent is for this patreon to be a place where they get to share and explore that love with others, like a small museum for their personal work and all the messy, fun parts of their process that they don’t get to share as frequently as their finished products. This patreon will allow them to improve exponentially as a cartoonist by letting them slow down and be more playful and indulgent with their work, while still allowing them to make a living doing the thing they love most in the world. It will give them a space to share their art more intimately with those of us that enjoy it, as well as expand the current limitations of their practice by creating a source of income that lets them focus on growth and experimentation rather than scrambling for gig after gig to make ends meet. They’d like to eventually transition away from taking on freelance illustration work to be able to focus exclusively on comics and on sharpening and pursuing their own vision rather than hustling through work for clients to make rent.
