S1apSh0es has no plans on going full-time on YouTube anytime soon. Instead, this Patreon will primarily fund the S1ap on Location video series, where they travel the country exploring the remains of abandoned long-forgotten tracks and give viewers the history of the track and provide any video footage or photos they find of the track in their research. Ad revenue on YouTube is pretty hit or miss, and despite nearly universal praise from the comments and ratings on these videos, they are pretty sporadic in their performance and the creator can’t always count on them bringing in enough money to pay for the videographer and his editing time. Not only that, but they have to pay for gas to get to the locations and usually book a hotel room as well. The project isn’t cheap and they’d like to have a more secure form of income to pay the people involved what they deserve.
