Safe To Be (a nonprofit)

Safe To Be (a nonprofit) is for LGBTQ+ folks who have lost their housing situation after coming out. It will be especially trans-inclusive because those are the folks most often left behind and forgotten about. The end goal is to provide shelter/housing for these folks in an area that is inclusive and welcoming of diversity. It’s been difficult to find such a location in the South, but they believe they’ve found it in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Essentially, Safe To Be will be creating a tiny-house community for LGBTQ+ folks in an town central to Dallas, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Memphis (they will, however, welcome folks from anywhere in the country). This is a community project. They all have to come together and make this happen. They set up on Patreon because they want their patrons to be up to date on what they’re doing and let their patrons have input into what they’re creating long term! Plus, once they’re up and running, they’ll have a continuing cost to run and grow – and their membership will support that. And in terms of growth and the future, they’d like to have space for homeless LGBTQ+ youth, LGBTQ+ families, and LGBTQ+ seniors. They’d also like to have low-income housing for folks who come to them in need, prosper, and wish to stay long term. This is their project, together – so let’s do this.
