Samantha Jean Illustrations is passionate about the visual arts of drawing and painting. Specifically people, animals, nature, expressive characters, and telling stories through illustrations and comics. They grew up knowing they wanted – needed – to be an artist. Every month on Patreon they will release a new coloring page, a weekly comic (currently Dragon Faes), and also share the art pieces they are working on. For coloring pages, their favorite genre is fantasy and mythology, with a belief in being your true self, strong characters, magical elements, and the beauty in the balance of life (yin/yang, light/dark, etc). Their coloring pages reflect that. They also love graceful, well thought out line work, and they strive to achieve that in their illustrations for coloring. They’ve loved creating comics since they were a child. While they have 5+ stories in their head, they’re going to focus on a teaser for Dragon Faes, which is their fantasy adventure story. Then they’ll start their slice of life comic, which will be announced closer to its release. Their personal artwork – which in the spirit of ying/yang – they create both cute children’s artwork, and also fantasy artwork better geared towards teens and adults. They work both digitally and traditionally when creating pieces, so you’ll see a variety of approaches here. Here they will share with you their ideas, work in progresses, and finished pieces.
