Shane Watt is making maps and cityscapes on a number of different surfaces including walls, furniture and paper that interconnect into a larger fictional universe they’ve created to mirror our own. They use these places to critique and challenge political ideas and social norms, and they’re currently creating an atlas which will explain some of the ideas they’ve hidden within their creations. Though they sell artwork, obtain mural contracts and take on temporary work, it is often difficult to cover even the most basic of expenses.
