ShortBox is an independent comics publisher with a unique model: they publish new comic books via a mail-order box. The books are also available individually (via their webshop) once the box has been released. The aim of this Patreon is a bid to support their publishing, and to help bring even more comics into the world. The comics created for this Patreon are currently paid for upfront – if they gain enough support, the hope is that the comics will then be funded directly by the Patreon, which would be great. There are 2 straightforward pledge levels: $1 and $3 (you can pledge more if you want). The $1 tier gets you access to first look previews of ShortBox books, behind-the-scenes and ‘what we’re reading’ posts, news of upcoming projects, and so forth. The $3 tier gets you all that AND access to a brand new 8-page comic every fortnight! These comics are exclusive to Patreon. Depending on how the Patreon progresses, they may add further tiers; something they’d love to do is have a higher pledge tier to commission small items specifically for those who pledge at that level.
