Sideways is a guy on the internet that’s making videos about Music. So technically these are Music Videos and you can’t tell them otherwise. Honestly though, they’ve been having some trouble getting around the YouTube copyright wall with all of the musical examples in their videos. Even though the Fair Use doctrine under US Law protects their use of copyrighted material under the pretense of commentary and education, YouTube necessitates a strict automatic copyright flagging program as a means to satisfy their sponsors’ needs. So whether or not their advertising revenue stays strong on this platform for years to come, they still have to spend a lot of time and anguish dancing around these systems. But a platform like Patreon would make it much easier for them to publish videos without having to worry (too much!) about dodging the YouTube copyright protocols.
