Somewhere in Japan is David’s blogging project for 2021 (and beyond). They started with the idea to give themselves a year-long writing project. Every Tuesday and Wednesday for all of 2021, 105 posts in all, they would put up a new short essay and accompanying photograph, both related to (and created in) Japan. It’s been challenging in the best possible way and as they near the 50% mark for the year, they’re thinking forward to what they want to do with the site and the writing project in 2022 and beyond. Their current thinking is that they’ll probably move to doing fewer of the short posts, but also working in at least a couple longer pieces per month.
