Song of Usera

Song of Usera is Micah, a illustrator and author of the Song of Usera, a dark, high fantasy adventure series that dives into fantastical places and adventures, explores the dark underbelly of religion, and what it means to be human in a world of magic. In Usera, creation was shaped and crafted by Angels and Demons, large titans who are the shattered remnants of their god-parents, the Emeraals. They were given the divine mandate to create life on Usera, and so with order and chaos in balance, they shaped the world in their image. They made thick wildernesses, vast seas, tall mountain peaks, and pockets of volatile magical energies. When humans first emerged from the wandering woods, they were greeted by a breath-taking and beautiful world, but a very dangerous one. Humans persevered, and when their tribes settled, they built large castles and kingdoms, which would become the main safe havens for man. The woods are dark and terrible places where wicked and powerful witches meet, vampyres prey on the weak, and mysterious and fickle fae folk walk among the mists. So humans turn to the Power (their god) and the Church for guidance and safety. The Church of Rnd asks for only one thing in exchange for their help: complete and unwavering obedience to the Power, and the Pope-King of Aryna. The church hates all forms of magic, they reject or kill those who use magic, and actively seek to end the creatures molded by it.
