Sonya Taaffe is a prolific reader, the author of five collections of short fiction and poetry, and they watch a lot more movies than they used to think they did. For more than ten years now, they have been writing about film on their journal Myth Happens. Recurring subjects include classic movies, cult movies, pre-Code Hollywood, B-pictures, queer cinema, character actors, and directors they can’t understand why everyone doesn’t already know and love. Once a year they stay awake for twenty-four hours of science fiction film marathon at the Somerville Theatre. More often they rely on the good graces of Turner Classic Movies and their local arthouse theaters. They have occasionally written about film for Weird Fiction Review, but they’re looking for support for their reviews on a more regular basis. They see lot of strange things these days. They’d like to share what they find.
